Superbowl 2015: Seahawks Finger Jello Shots

For one of the biggest drinking days of the year I needed a themed cocktail! I’ve been playing with layered jello shots a lot lately, so I jumped at the chance of another one.

Seattle Seahawks Finger Jello Shots

  • 1 box of Blueberry JELL-O powder
  • 1 box of Lime JELL-O powder
  • Plenty of boiling water
  • 1 cup of ice cold alcohol (I used Vanilla Vodka)
  • 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 4 Envelopes Plain Knox Gelatin
  • Whip Cream (If desired)

You Will Need

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Clear Plastic Cups
  • Measuring Cup

We’ll start with the “blue layer”.

  • Empty the Jell-O pouch and one pack plain gelatin into the big bowl.
  • Add 1 or 2 cup of boiling water, depending on box size.
  • Stir vigorously until the powder is completely dissolved.
  • Add 1 cup (or 2) of ice cold alcohol and mix well again.
  • Pour into clear cups, obvs only pour a little about 1/4th of the cup.
  • Let harden at least 2 hours. To prevent bleeding these need to sit a looooooong time.

“White” Layer

  • In another bowl, mix can of sweetened condensed milk with 1 cup boiling water.
  • In a separate small bowl, sprinkle 2 envelopes of unflavored gelatin over ½ cup cold water. Let stand for a few minutes and then add ½ cup boiling water to dissolve the gelatin.
  • Then add to the milk mixture and stir to combine. Cool to room temperature. (This is very important!!!). Pour the white layer over the firmed-up blue Jell-O layer.
  • Refrigerate another 2 hours before adding green layer.

Superbowl 2014: Football Deviled Eggs

These football deviled eggs are inspired by a Sand & Sisel Blog Post. But I added my own spin.

Take your peeled hard boiled eggs. In a bowl or pot, add 1/2 teaspoon of brown icing color to 2 inches of hot water. Mix to dissolve. Gently add the peeled eggs to the brown colored water an shake the pot to coat the eggs. Allow them to sit for at least 5 minutes, shaking a few times.

Slice and scoop yolk.

For Stuffing

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper

Mash the yolks into a fine crumble using a fork. Add mayonnaise, vinegar, mustard, salt, and pepper, and mix well.

Evenly disperse heaping teaspoons of the yolk mixture into the egg whites. Use mayo in a icing bag with a small rounded tip for the laces.

Superbowl 2013: San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens Cocktails

I am a Bay Area girl so when the 49ers got into Superbowl 2013 I was jazzed! Had to come up with some themed cocktails!

(I recommend gold sprinkles over edible gold flakes, much cheaper!)

Superbowl 2013: 49ers Cupcakes

Woohoo! As a Bay Area girl this Superbowl was extra awesome! Themed dessert was a must!

San Francisco 49ers Cupcakes

  • Make a few dozen cupcakes. I used a normal cake mix. After cooling:
  • Take vanilla frosting and split it into three bowls. Dye one red, the other orange, and leave one white.
  • Frost cupcakes with a delicate mix of the two colors. Be careful not to mix the colors, just gently intermingle the frostings. Add a gold sheen with Wilton Edible Gold Spray Paint.
  • Fill frosting bag with a thin round tip and outline SF on top.
